Trust Anchors
Trust Anchors are the highest level of trust
With great trust comes great privilege. Trust Anchors get special features to help identify the most respected people on the social web while helping ensure a fair and accurate reputation system. We like to think of Trust Anchors as Wikipedia admins of reputation.
Trust Anchors are the anchors of a chain of trust. A chain that validates how respected and trustworthy a person is, in part, by how trustworthy the people are who vouch for them.
To become a Trust Anchor you must meet the following requirements:
- Receive three special Trust Anchors vouches
- Abide by the principles and rules of the Respect Trust Framework
Trust Anchors get a special type of anchor vouch and can give it to no more than 150 people. When three or more Trust Anchors give the special anchor vouch to a Trusted user, the user becomes a Trust Anchor.
In order to give out an anchor vouch, you must know the recipient well enough to publicly vouch for their reputation and be reasonably certain they will make good decisions on who they vouch for. Like all vouches, anchor vouches are public.
Trust Anchors get special privileges:
- Unlimited standard vouches
- 150 anchor vouches
- Featured status in public directories
- Special access to curation tools
- Tools to spot and report reputation gaming
- Early access to new features
During our private beta you can apply to become a Founding Trust Anchor.
